Headlight question 85 C10

Sorry if this is not the right forum

Which set of lights should be low-beam versus high-beam?

I thought low-beam would be the upper pair?

Come to think of it, I've never owned a vehicle with stacked lights like this before!

Low is upper.
When you click on high beams both upper and lower will come on.

Mine is backwards then. Low-beam are the bottom pair. High-beam upper pair. Weird. I've got another issue too because when I switch to high the driver side low goes out lol.

Check ground wires on the harness. They can do crazy things.

I put my low beams on the bottom on my 81 due to back in the day I raced snowmobiles for a number of year and coming home in the dark I always seemed to get caught in a snow storm. With the low beams lower it helped to see the road. If you have ever driven on the highway at night in a snow storm you will understand what I mean. Click your high beam and there is just a white wall in front of you. Bonus the 81 park lights in the bumper and the truck lowered makes it look even lower at night.

Actually having the lows in the bottom makes more sense because at lower speeds the beam hitting the street out in front at a low angle is desired, and the high beam up top puts the light further out ahead of the truck. Besides when you adjust your headlights the low beam is supposed to hit the street at 75 ft. in front of the vehicle. Now yes, I'm sure the GM engineers had it all figured out and that's why they put the lows on top. But it wouldn't be the first time their ideas weren't any better than ours. So you put yours where you feel they are doing what you want them to do.

I'd switch yours to like @WesN has his, and you can check your ground while you're are at it.

The low beam lamp is a dual filament. Chances are the high beam filament is burned out. You can swap it with the other one or use an ohm meter to test it.
