Really? Let's break down that VIN, shall we?

ccl239j147715

C - Chevrolet
C - 4x2
L - 350 4BBL
2 - 3/4 ton
3 - cab/chassis

9 - 1979
J - Janesville, WI
147715 - 47715th Chevrolet C/K built at Janesville, WI in 1979

I emailed the seller asking what was up that this didn't jive. Here's his response.

boba5129:
The vin # is as it was given to me. I'll ask the owner to check it again.

OK, everyone member this post from a few days back. I emailed that seller and you see his response above in my quote. So he checked into it as he said he would, and here is his "checked into it " response. Get a load of this **** !!!! ......

We have found no evidence pointing to theft or tampering. We think there are two probable explanations. First and most likely is that the manufacturer modified a LATE '79 prior to shipping to the dealer so it could be sold as an '80 version. I have encountered this practice several times. Second is that the buyer requested that some '80 options be added so it could be sold for a lower price yet look like an '80. This also is often done. It is also quite possible that the 13 character vin# can no longer be read accurately now. What we do know is that it is a dually with a 454, an 80 grill, The title is clear and has been insured by several different companies, none of which had any problem with the vin#. In any case, it is a beautiful truck and there is no reason to think the next buyer would have a problem. If you are still interested let me know. Bob

I'm now convinced, it's MOST LIKELY a stolen truck. Whether this seller's owner bought it from the people who stole it, or whatever the case may be, but his response is so far from the truth he stinks. The factory does no such **** as he claims. Even if they did, the year model has nothing to do with all the other **** not jiving, like motor, C&C and GVWR.

They seem to be doing well around here, especially the one in our little town. It's never slow and it's great going there because you're always going to bump into folks that you know.

All our Circle K's seem to be doing just fine. They can be either a Shell, Phillips 66 or Conoco gas station. There is just as many of C K's as there are 7-11's.

Our local Circle K isn't even a gas station, just the store.

Stand Alone Circle K stores here all bellied up many years ago. Then slowly came back taking over all the gas station convenience stores.
There are even Circle Ks across the street from each other, and I do mean literally. One is a Phillips 66 Circle K, and across the street is a Shell Circle K. There is even a Phillips 66 and a Conoco Circle K across the street from each other, and Phillips66/Conoco are now joint venture in bed together.

I think the issue is that ever since phillips66 and Conoco merged now the market is saturated with them (at least around here) and they are fighting each other for customers.

Seems they are one in the same around here. Same prices, same promo's, same fountain cups etc. This is in all the nicer corporate owned stores anyway, but there can still be one of each on each corner of the same intersection. That blows my mind.
