Nice score on the 8 foot stepside! So info you might already know, that early stepside would have round tail lights. Later stepside would have a Grote style rectangular tail light with a side marker. The fender side marker in red, is somewhat rare.

You also mentioned about recouping some funds. If the right side bed marker is as nice as the left side, you could probably sell or trade them for the value of complete newer style tail lights. Then you would have the correct style tail lights for your year truck.
Oddly enough my step side trailer has circle filler spot (higher than the old ones) and then the square combo tails with side marker

Yup, so why would he need "good luck finding a 8 foot bed"?
My god can you not read? The man was looking for an 8ft step side. He has since after my wishing him luck found one. Can I not wish fortune upon someone’s hopes and desires for their truck?

You can wish anything you want. You were wishing for a bed for him that he already had, apparently. My apologies.

Nice find! I'm toying with the idea of finding a short bed step, but I'll have to find out if they made one with fillers for dual tanks first. I like my 32-gallon capacity more than the idea of a stepside, and I'm terrible at fabricating anything but scrap metal.
There is a guy in my area that has a stepside with dual tanks from factory. It is an '87. I personally didn't know that they even made stepsides that late but he specifically collects '87 Stepsides and has I believe 3 of them.

Thanks! I like the rectangular tail light with the no side markers on the fenders better anyway, I'll have to figure it out when I get that far, I might just leave the bed as the older 70's style. Even thought about getting rid of the bed side tailights in general and using the gbody elcamino/wagon bumper for the tail lights. Passenger side fender is dented up pretty bad could be fixed but the guy threw in an extra fender so I'll probably see if i can find a nice late 70's 80's model side fender. Been tossing around a few other ideas, it's nice to get people's take on it

"Got a nice one from AZ I'm picking up from a guy at the spring Carlisle show"

I have no idea when he got it, but he also didnt say he currently had one right away, him asking about what his current bed is worth + his plans to switch to me says he probably doesnt have the bed, therefore I wish him luck getting one.

that can be picking up, finding, paying, no accidents or oopsies, getting the neck/pipes, the boards, etc.....
