Anybody have an easy way to replace the fender badges on a square? Specifically, I’ve got a 1987 GMC Sierra Classic. The “Sierra Classic 1500” badges on the front fenders are faded terribly. Looks like I’d have to take off the fender, but I don’t really have the time or energy for that.

Looks like USA1 has a weird trick gromet to get around this problem. Anybody ever used their system?

I used the nutserts? or barrel clips, same thing to put my new badges on. worked well, no complaints.

Awesome. How do I get the old ones off without damaging the fender? I can’t reach the speed nuts with the fender still on the truck.

On my 84 Sierra 2500, I replaced the left fender, that came off of a K5 Blazer, and my original emblem had the studs broke off, so I used 3M double sided tape. Worked perfect and can't tell it's stuck on and not bolted.

Take a piece of wood and set it on the emblem. Whack it with a hammer so that it breaks the studs.

Install the new emblems with barrel clips.

I was able to reach into the fender from under the hood. There are several access holes.

Really? Ive always read that they are inaccessible to get to the backs without taking the fenders off

3m double tape or your inner fender has to come off. You can try to squeeze your arm in there if you have an access area but bigger guys may struggle with that.

Or as I've read these work for our emblems as well. I'm going to order them as I need them for my '69 c10

Not advising to do it this way,but i used plastic wall anchors that fit the existing holes good then put JB Weld in the studs and pushed them into the anchor holes. 10 years been holdong good on my 1985 K 20. Not sure if that year has the same setup as yours. 3M tape sounds good they have come along way with that stuff ,i notice it is used on a lot of the new vehicle emblems.

I guess depending on if you can reach in that far but I'm 99.9% sure the hole top center leads to the studs:

^This.
Might add covering the surrounding area with masking tape to help prevent scratches.
Barrel nuts worked great to press fit the new emblems in.
Little bit of trial and error but I was able to pop the emblem back out as well when held in w barrel nuts.

It's how we did it in the assembly plant, only we had a special thin block of hard plastic instead of wood.

Front nuts can be accessed with the fender on, rear ones are a no go.
