Sounds like a bent or binding metal rod in the locking system??

Like in the old days people "slim jimmed" their trucks when the keys were locked inside. Maybe someone hung the tool up on a lock rod and bent it???

I “think” the problem is with the door lock pawls. I’ve got a set on the way now.

Apparently that is the part that is side specific. They are clocked differently, the pass side and the drivers side. The one on the pass side is not even close to lining up with the locking mechanism.

Hopefully I’ll have an update with positive results in a week or so.

Assuming these are power locks? I don't have a sure solution, but something funny happens on my K10 sometimes that sounds related.

If I try to unlock the passenger side door, via the lock switch on my driver's door, while someone is trying to open the locked passenger door, the whole lock mechanism in that door gets stuck. The lock knob can't be lifted inside, the key in the door cylinder won't turn, and the power lock switch won't unlock it.

To get things functioning again, someone needs to push HARD on the outside of the door while pulling up on the lock knob inside the cab. I've unlocked it that way probably half a dozen times, and it functions normally afterward, but it's always a struggle.

Maybe pushing the door in and working the lock will fix your dilemma???
This same exact thing happens every now and then on my V10. Cannot manually open from inside and neither passenger or drivers switch will pop the knob up. You can see it move so it is getting power, just not up enough to unlock. Typically this doesn't last and the mechanism will work the next time in the truck but I am worried it will be permanent one day.
