You wont put 165 dollar control arms on a rust free truck and the next natural decision is to scrap it?

I am a little confused.

Thanks, but I already managed to obtain a set from NAPA and didn't have to wait to get shipped in.
I NEED that truck running ASAP.
I am fighting with doing the driver side now, the bushings in the new arm are too tight and the shaft won't rotate so I can line it up with the studs.

Well, the truck is going to be down a while longer, seems the factory across the ocean screwed up, somebody WAY overtorqued the bushings on the driver side arm, put too much tension on the shaft, AND actually squeezed and bent the arm itself inward and it hits the frame where it isn't supposed to and won't bolt up correctly.
DAMN, I wish parts were made in the USA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

that would require paying americans good wages and not viewing us as cattle, thats unreasonable demand on GM, NAPA, et al. Lol! Jk of course

A neighbor is going to the city later this week, and knows what to look for, so he will return the arm and get a replacement, IF it's usable.
I have plan B if the replacement arm is just as bad, the old arm is usable if i go to the hassle of installing a shaft & bushing kit and new ball joint.
It didn't fail as bad as the passenger side, and seems to be more trustworthy of using again with new parts.
I KNOW it will fit the truck properly and is made stronger.
Meanwhile. I will go easy using supplies around here to last me until the truck can be safely driven again.
Don't believe anybody who tries to tell you off grid living is cheap and/or easy.

I don't like to deal with autozone, and if the arms are $165 plus tax each, I will scrap out the truck.
It's the truck in the avatar pic I have.
Shame a nice rust free truck goes away, but crap happens.

Why scrap it, when you can sell it for more than what a junk yard will give you?
