Has anyone recovered a crewcab headliner?

Mine seems to be something like fiberglass with foam backed fabric.
I am not sure what the best way to recover it without ruining it and I cant seem to find an aftermarket one.

There really isn’t any aftermarket offerings. I did find a guy who makes them in southern Missouri but they’re $400 +shipping.

if your backing is in a decent shape you can grab some super 77 adhesive (you can get it at the auto parts store or a fabric store and maybe even Walmart in the fabric section) and get the fabric you want and go to town. Just keep it taut as you spray the glue so you don’t have wrinkles

You just use a stiff-bristled brush to remove all the deteriorated foam, then install whatever fabric tickles your fancy on the original backer board. Old 77's recommendation about the Super 77 is spot-on. He knows his 77's, lol.

Back In the mid 90's I recovered the one in my 3+3. I changed if from the perforated style to the 81-87 style material. Just make sure to use enough glue and coat both the material and the headliner shell. Once it tacks up you should be good to go. Make sure the layers of fiberglass are solid before you apply the new material or it will droop later.

Who is this guy? They ass-hats that installed an aftermarket sunroof in my 3+3 tossed the original headliner board and removed 90% of the inner roof. Now that I removed the sunroof it would be nice to cover up the mess with a new headliner board, but I can't find one. Like anywhere. It's really annoying because my interior is decent... until you look up. If there's someone who makes a headliner board, I'm in!

Who is this guy? They ass-hats that installed an aftermarket sunroof in my 3+3 tossed the original headliner board and removed 90% of the inner roof. Now that I removed the sunroof it would be nice to cover up the mess with a new headliner board, but I can't find one. Like anywhere. It's really annoying because my interior is decent... until you look up. If there's someone who makes a headliner board, I'm in!

His name is Erin Ruddy and I only found him through a squarebody facebook group. Look him up on Facebook and see if you can't shoot him a message. He's in Alton, Missouri so if you look on his facebook profile and you see an Erin Ruddy from Alton, Mo that's the guy.

I think a stiff bristled brush would destroy the backing. It is just fiber glass insulation with material glued to it. No fiber board to be seen so far.

Could have been. Seemed like a flakey deal but I quit going to that site so I may never know.

I guess I should have clarified. Stiff nylon bristles and go to town with it. You actually can use a wire brush, but care must be taken. Sometimes the backer board has deteriorated some and it becomes more fluffy, but you can still use a brush to remove the old foam. I've recovered probably 100 GM headliners or more, it's the best way I've found.

I've read online that once you have the backer clean, you can coat it with fiberglass resin to give it some strength back. Since reading that, I still haven't come across a poor enough backer to try it on.
