WHOA !!! That one wasn't set up right. The ring was obviosly riding out on the edge of the pinion gear. Not good at all.

I had a Camaro once that had gear wear like that... but it was my fault. The pinion bearing died a sudden death on a downshift into second, and then I drove the car for several hundred miles.

I really should get the 4.56's and steering box from you. I'll see if I can get a trip date nailed down so you don't have to mess with shipping.

LOL a new one just arrived today from Advance Auto, I had just posted in my build thread about ordering one. Make me an offer though, I need crossover steering fundage. It is as you see it, less than a year old, in great condition. I'll eat the shipping if you'll go a yard for it.

EDIT- just looked up the sales receipt from last year, it was ordered on 3/22/2010 and didn't actually see the trail till mid April, and I paid $139.95 + 6% sales tax. It may have seen 8 trail rides + 1 race.

I got some bites this week on the 4.10 and 4.56 gears from the local ad, if anyone here really for sure wants them let me know so I can tell them they're sold. Thanks Shawn, that puts me closer to the crossover steering setup!

OK, I'd like the 4.56 gears. I'd be stupid not to get them. Have any idea what it would cost to ship the steering box to 43162?

Went to Fed-Ex's website and came up with this as an estimate, based on the weight of when mine shipped (31.30 lbs):

1 package, 32.00 lbs, Your Packaging, 16 in x 12 in x 10 in, 90.00 USD.
End of day(1 Business day) FedEx Home Delivery® $20.70

It may be a little more if you want the steering arm as well, and I still need to fire up the pressure washer and clean it up some. But I did put the plugs and protector caps from my new one on it. Just let me know if you want the steering arm too. I'll have to take it off the steering box anyway to get it in the box right.

I put declared value at $90 (it's free "insurance" up to $100) but to ship it will be around $20-$25 depending on if you want the pitman arm or not. I got it pressure washed today too by the way.
