Feedback carburetor with internal MC solenoid. Think they were only used one or 2 years on trucks. Cars were quite a bit earlier. Actually a decent unit but takes a couple inexpensive tools to set up properly.
Do you truly have a computerized carb or a dual accelerator shot carb? If you have a throttle position sensor on the drivers side and a 2 wire solenoid on the front passenger side top it is a computer controlled carb,if it just has the solenoid top passenger side it is a dual accelerator pump shot. I doubt you have a ccc carb, 1 year only, California only, to the best of my memory. The dual accelerator pump carb is the same as any other quadrajet if it is disconnected.It will cause no issues. Switching to a different quadrajet may cause issues,they are not all set up the same. Different jets,metering rods,air bleeds,spring windup,etc. If it is truly a ccc quadrajet,post back letting us know. Using a non ccc carb on place has its complications,we'll need to walk through the mods.

What exactly are these in expensive tools I have a dwell meter on the way should get it this week but besides that I don’t know what else there is to get it dialed in.
I sent my carb number to mountain man and he stated that it came back to a computerized carb. Which makes sense since it was originally sold in California. I was asking because I just tried to turn it on yesterday and it cranks good but it doesn’t seem to get gas. When I first turned it on after buying a new carb from national carbs it ran ok not super well but ok. Drive it around a couple times seemed good but under load I could hear it backfire pretty bad from the carb. Took it back home shut it off figured I had to dial it in once I got a dwell meter and now it won’t turn on. I’m sick of the headache and since I’m so new to all this distributor, timing, mixture screws I want something simple and easy. My dad has an older 77 gmc and that thing runs super nice doesn’t bog out when you get on the gas always fires up after a little pumping of the gas and has never had issues. Any recommendations on what I should do? I know being in California and having to pass smog will always be a headache but I have someone that can take care of it passing smog if you guys know what I mean so I would be willing to remove all that catalytic converter stuff this truck has.
This is indeed right the truck has a ccc carb which I have now come to realize how big of a headache that thing is.
