I guess if you are going to go any thing bigger than stock lift and tires on a 4wd, 3/4 ton or 1 ton axles are a must.:hmm:

If you don't mind being easy with the skinny pedal, half tons can hold up alright to 33's or 35's.

But on the other hand, I've seen soccer moms grenade the 10 bolt in their stock Suburban.

Short gears do help with the strain some too. Not completely but they do help. But, this is why I"m going to go no bigger than 33's on my K1500 running those 10bolts, and that's with 4.10's. Also hope to go 10.50 in width instead of 12.50. That alone should help in the strength area and also help the mpg from going to far the wrong way. That 2 inches x 4 tires, equals alot more friction and weight to carry.

That's 33x12.50 tires??? Sure don't look it. It's been sitting 4 a minute???
$1000 would still be a good deal. I wonder what he considers a rebuilt motor? A hosing off at the carwash maybe? Why would someone go thru all the trouble to rebuild a motor, drive it 100 miles and let it sit? That's wierd to me. I'd have to question that part.

It would be my new toy so I would probably take everything off the truck I've done and put most of it on the Blazer. I've really been wanting one.

Yeah I have my suspicions but if I can get it cheap the motor dont mean much to me. I also saw a 1978 model for $1500 that looked like it was in way better shape, factory white/yellow paint was still shiney. Which is why I bet I could get this one for closer to $600.

Well, maybe not shiney but definitely looks better lol

It seems to me that this yellow one is too nice for what you would use it for. The blue one doesn't look too horrible, but if it gets a dent here or there it won't really matter. I hope to find one just like that in a year or two.

Harey Carey voice: "Evel Knievel: You've got some competition!"

Maybe you can explain something. Why do these trucks have tan interiors and why do they seem to have brown dash panels too? I've seen the brown dash before, but maybe it was just the same truck. But even the movie truck had a tan interior.

Lol, that's not what I was getting at. Even if you make an effort to take care of it, using it for mud runs and rides in the woods is going to lead to bumps and bruises. That's just how I see it, or at least that's how my subconscious makes me see it so I can justify having two K5's
