That is true. The frame and the cab are only stamped or marked parts in a Square. For those who don't know. The VIN is stamped on the top of the frame rail, passerger side, just about where the passenger would be sitting. So you have to lift the cab to see it. Could be in other places too I guess, but I know for a fact its there. I've taken the cabs off of 4 Squares now and all of them had the VIN stamped into the frame at that location. You will see other #'s stamped on the driver side, but that is just the part # to the frame.
No ****? Good info there.

Yeah, so if you steal one, now you know where to grind off the #'s. :happy175: Get me one too while you at it. Preferably one with charcoal gray interior.

Haha, tat's good to know in case your **** does get jacked. Luckily my vehicles are to rednecked half-assed looking so that is a theft deterrent in itself. I wonder if that is a problem if you swap a cab or a burban body if they inspect it, do they look for that ****?

Only is they suspect theft I'd say. Or if they need if for evidence to prove and prosecute someone. I can't imagine they'd pull a cab to find the VIN on the frame. You know, I'm gonna be converting one of my C20's to a K20 by using a differant K10 frame. I am putting the cab on a differant frame. But, you can bet your ass, I'll be taking a pic of that VIN on the frame before I put the cab on and saving it in that truck file with the title and maintenance records. The truck gets jacked, I'll want the law to have the correct frame VIN too. Technically, in OK, if you combine vehilces, I think you're supposed to get the 2 VIN's married and then a new state issued VIN is given and they rivet a new # to the driver door post. :yucky::crazy: Not positive. But, I know for a fact, I'm the legal legit owners of both of the donors, so I don't suspect a problem.

I don't even think mine has a windshield vin  I'll have to go home and look now. If I do, it's been covered up by my dash pad ...
