No, I was just looking for a wench. Not a winch or winch bumper.

Technically, you ca get a tug job from both. Just a different mess to clean up after the happy ending.

For spending that kind of money, you'd spend more, but I'd sure give alot of consideration to a 4L80-E instead. You'll have drive shaft and mounting expenses with the stand alone OD unit too. Do a 4L80-E conversion and be done.

4L80E swap isn't cheap either. I, too, want my trans to have an overdrive badly!! Lol

No It's not cheap. I mentioned it would cost more, but my thinking is, if you have $750 plus cost of driveshaft and crossmember mods, then for simplicity, I think I'd spend a bit more and go for the 4L80-E. Maybe even look into 6L80-E. How true, I don't know, but I've heard 6L80-E can be a stand alone unit too used on our older trucks.

If it could be done, I'd actually much rather just do a 6L80-E over the 4L80-E. Some interesting facts about the 6l80-E. Or at least it was to me. It does NOT have a 1 to 1 ratio gear ratio. The closest it gets is 1.15 to one for 4th gear. Another interesting fact, it has 2, yes 2 different OD ratios. .85 and .67. The reason for no 1 to 1 and 2 OD's, is to have a limited set of planetaries to make all those gears. The first gear is something in the 4:1 ratio. Talk about launching !!! And we like the 3.06:1 in 4L60-E/700R4? I'd love to have a 4.56 or 4.88 rear gear ratio and a 6L80-E.

Interesting info :) in my case, I've got time to truly plan and save pennies and such. Having the extra gears would definitely improve drivability by a significant amount!

Lol now just figure out a cheap way to mate it up to a np208 and I'll do it!!

An interesting prospect for any Arklatex folks. Not beat to hell like some for similar prices and a cheap jumping board for someone who wants another square body project or wants to get into squares altogether.
