With the tail gate down you can get 10 in standing up. A layer of 5 on top of those lashed together laid on their sides and in the bed width wise. Another layer of 4 on top of that lashed together and that layer lashed to the one below. Throw a tarp or fishing net over the whole mess and lash down into the bed. Can probably use jetline like home depot uses for twine. Can be tied down if you know how to tie a hay hitch. Lash your 4 layer and 5 layer like building a raft. Layer is 10-5-4
That's some funny **** right there, sure made me smile. I heat with an oil burning heater, but it does not like waste oil, bugger.

Unless you are aiming for a record on the 1/4 mile, I agree it shouldn't be that light...

Seeing the title of this thread pop up reminded me of the optimum layout for 17 boxes in a square pattern:

Sorry if this ruins someone's day :signs8:
So i looked up the instruction sheet for my new receiver, its a class V Reese "clone" from a chinese company
Hopefully the welds are good, im going to inspect them for sure

The hardware is decent with it, ill determine whether i reuse original or not, but the bumper i got, i think im going to use some of the original ones if I can, because its already flash rusted exposed to the atmosphere and shiny. its also 9.8 instead of 10.9 hardness

Before I packed up for the night I used grinder with flap disk on the places the plates go, and used some rustoleum reform and seal brushed on so it cuts down on rust and keeps things from getting severely bad sandwiched together.

But when I go back in for rust removal in future ill have to probably redo or readdress to make it complete

on the c channel and the outside is where things attach, i cleaned that up on both sides

I also repaired my license plate lamp harness, had nicks and corrosion and missing conduit , got it nice

Rust never sleeps. Taylor I'm glad you didn't leave that rusty trailer hitch on the road somewhere. Do I see a GMT800? What power plant?

Seen that a time or 50 in Ohio. I haven't towed anything with our '00 Burb in a few years because the hitch and bumper are severely "weight reduced".

yes you must not have seen that I got a 2005 2500HD with 6.0 and 4l80e and np261HD (manual lever). 14 bolt AAM with 4.10, front 9.5 AAM axle
Im thankful my trailer back last summer was only full of barrels, had i had anything with weight or maybe even just concentrated weight in one spot, it may have broken off the receiver.

The scary thing is, that failure wouldnt be saved by chains, the hooks would simply be attached to the piece that breaks, and it would be a runaway/projectile lol!

For some reason I could not add text to the previous post other than "old" weird.

The top 2 photos are the original look and bumper and hitch, I just got new tailights installed today because when Getting that grand prix with a friend I accidently smacked a 4x4 piece of wood into the driver side tail light and cracked open the top of it , so it will fill with water in the rain and such. Now I dont have 1 tail light held in by only 1 screw, and one with tail light tape on it to keep it held together lol. I had to stop using the sidemarker 194 bulb, since the gmc and 99-02 chevy tail lights for some reason did not use that... despite having the bottom section appearing like it should.
I went with these because I like amber turn signals and I think its safer. I like how it looks.

The category 5 is really nice , pulled the car without issue or complaint and very steady. and that included some spirited passing on the freeway in high winds. The winch I got fixed and installed CHANGES EVERYTHING haha. That grand prix can start and drive, but its strut in that front wheel well broke the strut mount, currently a large d ring shackel and a short lenght of chain are sitting on top of the strut in order to hold up the body of the car sufficiently for loading and unloading and moving under its own power once unloaded to where friend wanted it parked. The tire that was on it had a sidewall puncture from the landing that caused the strut to fire up

Im kinda mad, the car has similar damage my 1998 park avenue suffered jan 1st 2019 but because it fell off a steep drop into a ditch vs my hitting and jumping a culvert, it spared most of the cars suspension and its fixable
mine was very much not lol

I think im gonna eventually install a battery tray on the trailer so i can have the winch hooked up, and have the 7 way feed it to charge it. I think thats technically required on new trailers for the brakes to apply incase of a runaway event?

, but its better than nothing. Just standing on it, its rotated downward, i think I need to loosen the bolts on the bracket-to-bumper bolts and rotate it upwards, and then tighten one bolt on each side before cranking them all down. may need some washers to clamp more. I thought i had them tighter but access to the bolts is harder with the hitch so maybe i didnt get em that tight
The hitch is great!
I just wish it had a provision for my 7 way...

Im gonna be looking for universal brackets, if anyone has any that would be convenient or helpful im open to it. Im also open to one that replaces the receptacle because my "flap" Is cracked , and a new receptacle with a auxillary 4 pin connection on the same plate would be cool, my f150 has one similar, but it doesnt use the universal plug like this does

This kinda thing, this one looks cheap as hell and has aluminum contacts, uncoated sheet metal screws , and probably a flimsy bracket. the wiring is probably junmk. If anyone's got one they know to be good id appreciate it. @bucket @Turbo4whl

I also have a hole in the bed punched or drilled out for one technically, but its not there because my step dad used it for his new truck. Its by the tailgate. would it be worth mounting there? and using an extension harness to use it for a pull behind

I forgot who in the past has advocated the diesel/kerosene cutting used motor oil to treat trailer decking boards , so thats why i pinged you both you have good memories for that stuff even if you didnt say it yourselves.

You must be registered for see images attach

I have no idea how old the diesel is in here , but id have to gues i have like 4-9 gallons of diesel inside the barrel. This is meant to be on top of a rolling cart to gravity feed, I got it with my auction haul of my stuff

Im sure theres a date on there , but my only contention is that diesel will have microbial buildup esp when it gets old. Does anyone think that would affect the utility of using it with motor oil to spray on decking boards? Or on bottom of somethign i dont want rusting to death in the winter like my truck
I dont use or own anything with a diesel so if i cant use it id probably just end up dumping it in my used oil drums
