Ok. It's a tight fit once the ac compressor is installed too.

This is what I decided to do, I left the long leg like it was, drilled a 1/4" hole just above it, used an existing hole where the jack would be mounted. I'll use that mounting hole on the long leg as a place to tether the MAF sensor wire.

Looks good. You may not have to heat your leg since the 70s inner fender is a little different than the 80s.
