Yes,
That is how mine looks.
The schematic states "fusable link" in the location of that block, so I assumed that was it.
I may be assuming erronously.
If that piece of metal with the 2 holes is not the fusable link...where is it?
i dont seee what you are saying, it says fusible link in relation to the cable that lugs on the block. where does it say fusible link elsewhere?

Someone mentioned this above. It’s a piece of wire inline with the wire it’s protecting typically two sizes smaller. If you look at your charge wire, it should step down and get smaller.

So, I have felt along the wire going to the block and I detect no deviations in the wire. It may be further back in the loom.

Today, I finally decided where to locate the aux dist block and charging relay.
I did not want to drill holes in the inner fender which limited my options. There seemed to be plenty of space on the side of the battery tray so that's where they went.
I'm liking that nutsert tool.

What made you decide to go 5.7 olds?
Hi Ricko!

I have about a dozen of them in storage, and have years of experience with them (mom worked for an Olds dealer here in Kansas City, started racing Olds engines in 1992 on local circle tracks). I will start with a 1970s vintage 350 block, and in the future I may look at doing a bore/stroke on a Diesel 350 block to get into the 380-cube area should the 350 not be enough (but I think it'll be just fine). I have an early TH-400 to go behind it with the dual-stall torque converter, this ought to be plenty to haul my car trailer.

Take Care,
KS in KCK
