Mainly not got to it and hasn't made it far enough up on my priority list of mods. I don't trust myself enough to mess with transmissions so it'd have to be something I'd pay someone to do. I'm afraid if I did it I'd do something that'd damage my trans lol

Please explain this servo mod. Would it benefit my 03 Burb?

Thanks! My only concerns would be the 190,000 miles on mine and I don't like the idea of bashinh a heat shield out of the way. I would hate to F up my trans too.

Yeah, these are the reasons I've not ever attempted it. On one hand everyone says it's a piece of cake but on the other hand if you don't do it 100% right you cause your trans to grenade LOL A couple years back I got a black bear tune on my burb and that improved the shift points and performance good enough for me so that's another reason why I'll probably not do this mod.

what is needed for the black bear tune?

It's really very easy. I'd visit blackbearperformance.com and that'll answer most questions.

A short summary is you can get your ride tuned one of two ways. One way is they organize a meet in your city or near by and you get an in person tune done by Justin. He basically rides around in your vehicle for a half hour with his laptop and dials in the tune for you based on what you want out of your vehicle. A second way is via mail where you buy a device, log how your vehicle performs during normal driving conditions, email those log files to him and he'll send you your tune files back that you log onto the vehicle. There are very detailed instructions on that website if you go with option #2.

You can get tuned to get better MPG or better performance or a combination of both. I've heard some people getting as good as 3 MPG better after their tune when they went that route. Either tune will make your SUV/truck drive and handle worlds better, though.

You have AFM/dod tuned off right? Does the tune require premium fuel?

Yes I have afm/dod tuned out and yes my tune is for 91 octane but you can get a tune for 87 or whatever if you'd like. I just chose 91 cuz I was told I'd get more bang for my buck there anyway.

understandable, my Subaru is tuned for 91 for the same reasons (non turbo model)

the more i read, the more i feel i am just scratching the surface and it makes it hard to decide what i really want to do.
