anything to look out for on newer Burbs?

Looked at that 11 again, other then 14-15 it is the only one that seems to sit around, others sell w/in days.

Needs the door sills repainted and then covers or something. Paint wore through, but not primer. Going to have them put it on a lift tomorrow morning so I can check everything underneath.

I would like to remove the running boards and put on oval bars instead. Otherwise it looks pretty solid.

They don't haggle on price, but for as long as it has been sitting, maybe I can get them to throw in seat heaters or repaint the sills?

No kidding....only a man's man can handle a 2wd :insane:

and I haven't sold my car yet. considering letting the dealer screw me on my trade by about 10%. they haven't budged yet. but that '11 Maroon is so clean. cleanest frame I have seen up here so far.

I don't need 4wd most of the time, there are only a few days of the year it is really necessary and they all seem to be work days:whymewhyme:

this one wasn't bad. they should deal on the price. some rust on the frame. tempted to pay for carfax just to see what the 36 records are since i forgot to ask them when i was there. needs tires for sure, looks like someone ran them at max psi since the middle of every tire is shot

Yeah I was just giving you a hard time :) my wife's 07 is 4wd and in the 5 years we've had it the 4wd has come in handy a couple of times during deep snow. Probably didn't have to use it even then (the traction control is excellent on the newer SUVs) but did make it easier

i was browsing autotrader in southern states and there are way more 2wd newer ones available. extremely rare up here. prices are similar everywhere I am looking.

this '10 yukon xl looks nice, been in MN for 1/2 it's life so maybe rust hasn't started in on the frame yet. i realize it isn't the biggest issue, but I plan to keep it for a long time, so the less rust the better. they are pretty in the Maroon color

here is the other a little more local to me i like, but frame is meh and the tires are shot! aftermarket seat heaters (could be ok with me) nothing else too fancy

Yeah, the wife's is the maroon color and we love the color. That '10 Yukon looks really clean!! I'd be more apt to be after that over that silver one you just linked.

I called, but no call back yet. Maybe this evening after working hours. Depending on how it looks underneath, could be the one I really want. No DVD or moonroof, but I can live w/o that stuff. The maroon '11 I like does have that stuff though for not much more $ depending on how far these guys might go down

I like how the 20s look on the silver one, but don't need 20s. And can get the wheels relatively cheap anyway.

I do prefer the looks of the Chevy front end. With high beams on at night is the light output the same between GMC and Chevy or are Chevy's brighter with 4 forward lights vs just 2 on the GMC?

I've not compared the Yukon vs Burb/Tahoe output to give a good answer to that.

The other things you've listed off are easy ad ons down the road so I wouldn't let any of that stuff determine whether you buy something or not. Stay focused the the more important stuff as far as overall condition of the vehicle, rust issues, mechanical condition and that kind of stuff. Wheels are easily upgraded fairly cheaply via CL. DVD/entertainment systems can be added without spending top dollar which is what we did with our '07. We wanted DVD, too, for trips with the kids so I added it after the fact.

The maroon '11 burb has that stuff and is super clean. Only thing I noticed that made me wonder a bit was the front cross member has a decent amount of oil/road grime on it. And the passenger side frame rail near the engine. Everything else was pretty much spotless. 27k for the '11 with the options might be about right, not 100% sure, but in the ballpark I think

If I have time tomorrow I want to look at that Yukon. Still need to sell my car and no real interest which is strange because winter is coming, it is a Subaru, and it is a 5sp which is kinda rare. I guess not really sure about have multiple payments though, that would suck. Although I have paid enough that no payment is required until Jan/Feb so I could sit on it.

So many decisions, argh. Told them for now consider that Yukon sold. Overall pretty nice!

One question though, under slow speed in 4wd and turning there was a bit of a growl I don't remember from the others I drove. But I have only driven 3 total now. Is that a problem or normal?

I'm assuming the pavement was probably dry and in 4Hi? Was it loud and did anything feel rough or was it just a low growl but everything felt smooth?

I would bet it's 'normal' considering the conditions. How did it drive otherwise?

Actually on gravel, even he said "what was that?" Super slow speed, like 5mph. Just turning to park by his garage. Didn't feel rough, just the noise.

hmmmm....interesting. Yeah, hard to tell without hearing it in person. If it was me, I'd ask them if it's ok for you to have it looked at real close by a mechanic of your choice and then take it to someone you trust and have it looked at it.

Gonna call it normal. Just drove the '11 burb again, did the exact same thing.

I like the Yukon xl better, it is packaged with more stuff I would use daily. Plus 24k vs 27k
