A 15-20 gallon plastic trash can would work good too. I'm the kinda guy who will work with whatever is handy, instead of trying to source a plastic barrel I would use one of several trash cans I have around.

I got 2-3 plastic barrels. One already the top cut off. I dont have any plastic trash cans. I did have though but it had a small hole it plus it grew legs and walked off from my junkyard. I also have 3 water tanks.

55 gallon plastic container.

Don't forget, you can also use a hanging device across the top and hang the manifold, or at least to hold it is straight up and keep it from falling over.

Yep, whatever at your disposal and is safe is all that matters. Sometimes I think the 55 gallon is just to big. Good for Blocks, but anything else its overkill. Like doing a cylinder head, I have a round kitchen trash can I'd use.

Think outside the box Dave, I have included more links above becaue I thought they were good info and tips. You'll see in those links, the way I did my project was NOT optimal. Its a learn as you go process and get better and better at it.

So what should I set my battery charger on? 2 or 10? I have 10/2/50 amp manual battery charger/engine starter.

OK, so now I see you're NOT supposed to use Stainless. And its not illegal to use it, its illegal to dispose of.

Why you should not use stainless steel:

Many people using the electrolysis method for rust reduction swear by stainless steel, stating (incorrectly) that it's not consumed, stays clean and seems safe. Stainless steel is indeed consumed when used in the electrolysis process, although slowly. The main problem with using it is the hazardous waste it produces. Stainless steel contains chromium. The electrodes, and thus the chromium consumed, and you end up with poisonous chromates in your electrolyte. Dumping these on the ground or down the drain is illegal. The compounds can cause severe skin problems and ultimately, cancer. Hexavalent chromate is poisonous. These compounds are not excused from hazardous waste regulations where household wastes are. These compounds are bad enough that government regulations mandate elimination of hexavalent chromate by 2007 for corrosion protection.

I'll be trying it alot here soon. I be getting a large box of baking soda from Costco or walmart.

Washing Powder by Arm & Hammer is said to work much better. Just a matter of finding it.

Where is washing powder sold at? Never heard of it. Walmart?

If they have it, its in the laundry soap isle. Just have to look around at differant places. Not everyone carries it. I doubt Wally World has it, since they only carry what they can sell a million forty of. And washing powder can't be that common.
