only checked the torque on one being on my olds 442 and wouldn;t you know that i had a head gasket problemn after about 10 thousand miles, redid them and have been fine for over thirty thousand now

So are you saying you retorqued the head bolts and the problem went away?

no i did them and still had a problmn, did them again and did not recheck them and all is good

Probably Memorial Day weekend. Still need to round up some heli coils to fix the one bolt hole on the manifold for the thermostat housing and the back bolt on the belt tensioner mount is stripped too. I think they are the same size, I'll have to go through my threads because I wrote them down. 3/8-16 NC thread. Today I am going to pickup a few gallons of antifreeze. And I want to grab some new oil and filter too. Oh, and a cap & rotor with brass contacts. I think that should do it.

Looks like some good gaskets I see the blue rubber permadry like valve cover gaskets and the good alum/metal exhaust manifold ones, the paper ones suck IMO. I see ya got some free ***** with em too LOL

We got 3 cats. That one is my little pal. His name is Oight. Cat #2 is a big bellied lazy fancy cat named Buddy. A big baby she is, lol. She's black tiger pattern with white belly and paws. The last one is Snippies. He's a very muscluar tiger colored, dark orange cat who is very rambunctous. My brother found him as a kitten sitting in the middle of a road driving his big rig. He stopped and cupped him in his hand and brought him home.

You talked me into it. $10 mainfold with heater hose and brake hose and clean, unstripped threads.

And another 5$ got me a replacement AC bracket with idler arm and unstripped bolt holes. Heli-Coil? Nah...
