May I ask when you did to clean up the Armature? Great work! Just how I may end up doing it.

Thanks! I just used a Q-tip and some contact cleaner on the commutator (where the brushes ride) and then a cloth with contact cleaner to wipe off the worm gear and shaft of the old dry grease. An old tooth brush helps too.

Awesome thread! On my '85, the intermittent has died and sometimes the motor is slower than it should be on either low or high. I think a full rebuild is in my near future
