So I have been experiencing intermittent death wobble. The front axle has been rebuilt, new steering gear, alignment was done right after axle rebuild and what had not been replaced is leaf spring bushings. Keep in mind that the polyurethane bushings were installed over 22 years ago when the lift was installed. So I figured it was time for bushings since everything else has been replaced. While removing the front springs I found that both frame mount bolts for the front shackles were broken. Now with new bolts and bushings i have not experienced any death wobble. Hope this is the end of it.

Installed a set of sway bar links. Never liked Goethe sway was attached from the factory. To me it put the front suspension in a bind.

Are those the BDS ones? Do you have a part number by chance?

Blew out an other PS98 oil pressure switch. I have been using the switch to trigger a relay for my day time driving lights. This one about cost me an engine. Luckily it happened with in a couple miles from home. It dumped 3 quarts of oil in that short time. I have replaced the switch with a plug for the time being. Trying to find a better quality switch.

so were the front spring/rear bolts? I've got a bunch of play and those are the only 2 bushings I haven't replaced. Just checking my thoughts.

Yes. Front spring, rear bolts. One each side was broken. BTW. Still experiencing occasional minor death wobble. May need to take it in for another alignment.

Managed to tow my new truck home last night. All 4 tires held air and the brakes worked, so my son and I towed it home. Slowly!! Yes, it was a bit sketchy.

85 GMC cleaned up better than anticipated. Actually a really solid truck. Had it running yesterday for a few minutes. Still needs some attention in that regard. Overall a great find. BTW, it was last registered in 2013.
