Yeah...
Without getting all sweaty from the eyeballs it was my late fathers truck
I’m trying to keep as much of his stuff as I can... already tough that the cab is trashed
But someone did a crappy sunrooof patch on it and it ate the truck

Good for you! I’d do the same, just wouldn’t turn out as nice.

I’m sure you could
It’s not terribly difficult
Juat time consuming
It’s easy to find something more than what you expected and rushing through it...
If I catch myself doing that
I walk away for a minute and go back to chugging along with the plan of making it right

Has anyone cut the core support for repair.
Where the inner fender bolts ?

Mines eaten away by the battery acid
I planned on cutting one off a wreck n yard truck and scabbing it in

Yeah, you can do that. You can even fab up a new piece from sheet metal. It'd be not much different than sectioning the firewall areas.

Does anyone know why my 73 has two dash supports coming off the firewall and the 78 only has one?
Should I put both back on the swap or only go with the one as per the 78 cab?

I've never noticed how many braces mine do or don't have. May have to take a gander at them.

Could be a weight/cost thing. If it had 2, I'd put 2 back in.

Can anyone tell me about these steel plates?
Do I need these? Only had two
And the weird gasket between the cab and the plates?

I've pulled beds and cabs from original trucks that had those shims in them from the factory. Never seen the gasket thing in there though.
