I thought there was a mod to move the gas tank from in behind the seat? I wonder why GM thought that would be such a good idea? I can't think of a more dangerous place to put the gas tank. I'm trying to remember where the mod relocates the tank, but I can't remember.

So the perch hangers had no bushing and was just the tube for the bolt and that's it? Man!. Oh well, if thats all that's needed to hold the spring I guess, why not. I wonder what kind of other hanger you could find that you could put a bushing in like a more modern pickup, it sure would help out on a better ride. It's like riding a rigid frame Harley. It beats you to death. I know. I had a '48 pan head at one time but back then I was very young and I didn't feel it, "I was to tough to care!"

Yes there is a tank relocation kit. However since I am working on this for my brother, he opted out on that. As far as the rear shackles are concerned I did find a replacement rubber shackle kit from Posies. They have been ordered and should be here early next week.

was able to do laps around the yard today! Brakes still need some work and the 700R4 TV needs to be adjusted.

Looks pretty good after a bath. Tried to put some miles on it today but the carb started to flood out. It appears it sucked up some trash and stuck open a needle valve. Removed the bowls and flushed everything out with carb cleaner. All fixed. Will attempt to put on some miles again tomorrow.
