Those manifolds look like they were pulled from a shipwreck. They look like I could push a screw driver straight through the side and they will just turn into a bunch of rust flakes.:Moon::roflbow:

What about those smog headers they sell in the LMC cataloge, those look kick ass and you can keep it all legal.

I had to revisit the write-up 89S. After getting gas for the mower yesterday, I parked the square, square in the middle of the driveway (pun intended) to make it easier to cut along the driveway. 2 hrs later, I go to move it and it won't turn over. Dash lights weren't dimming any, so I decided to tap the starter a few times and she fired right up. I guess 24 yrs have finally gotten the best of my starter. I thought getting it rebuilt. Whaddaya think? New vs rebuild?

Okay....Got my starter installed this evening. Did the test start and it started right up. However, the instructions said if it had the whine for a few secs after it starts, then the starter needs to be shimmed with up to 3 shims. Right now, I have the maximum of 3 inboard shims on it and it seems to have no improvement at all. The whine is minor enough to where I've decided to leave it unless you guys tell me it's a bad idea. Then I guess I'll shim the outboard and add a 4th to the inboard to see if I can eliminate the sound. Here is a clip I did just for sound, so ignore the video part of it.

Sounds fine to me, like it is spinning down after the solenoid pulled the gear back. I'd say you're good to go. :waytogo:
