What is the benefit of one? I've seen it pop up in numerous threads on all kinds of forums for people doing swaps. All the searches I've come across just tell of people using them, not why they did. I'm asking because I've had one sitting in my garage for years. It was out of my 2001 Silverado 2500 and I want to know if I should keep it for my L29. I do have the factory L29 computer but is the 411 better?

Newer, better ecm with more support and tuning ability when compared to stock l29 ecm

That pretty much sums it up. You can get the idle nicer and you can tune it better when you add mods to the engine. The black box is clumsy in comparison. Also the 0411 can run 4.8, 5.0, 5.3, 5.7, 6.0, and the big blocks. It’s a very versatile computer.

go here http://gearhead-efi.com/ pm lextech and ask him for the wiring schematic for your year engine. The l29 uses the same wiring pin out and bin file as the 01 vortec 350
