I'm looking for an early to mid eighties with a three speed on the column. Anyone know where I can find one?

I suppose you're talking a whole truck? There is currently a Saggy 3 Speed at our local PAP.

Not easy to find one. Though they were made through 1987, many have been modified or were work trucks and beat to hell, then junked. I'd say keep looking, look in other states like here in Texas, New Mexico and the like.

Get in line brother! I have been looking for a clean 3 on the tree for years. i sold my rusty 77 GMC 3spd years ago and I miss it. I don't care about scratches and what not, but I want rust free. Everything else can be fixed, but chasing rust kills your spirit and your wallet.

Suggest looking on CL Eugene, Roseburg, Medford. There is one right now for $1500, short wide with BB, nearby is a Saginaw 4 speed for $250 and an 283 for $600 or so. just saying.

If it didn't have so much slop in it, I'd a got it, but at the local PAP, there was a truck with a Saggy 3 speed, inline 6 but it was gone, and a manual steering box. I wanted the manual steering box. It did have room for adjustment, in fact you could tell it had never been adjusted, and if I had cash to spare, I'd have gotten it anyway just for a core. I'd love to have a manual steer box for my C20. If I ever decide to go street/strip, I don't care for power steering. It's in the way to work on it, makes motor swaps slower, robs hp etc. Does seem most of those I6/3 Tree trucks are manual steering non AC base model trucks.

That's how my grandad's 69 C10 is, 250-6, 3 Speed Saginaw, manual brakes and steering. Its still 4 wheel drum too. Its a long bed too, stock height, Arctic Blue and white.

I hardly ever see a 3-tree squarebody. Last one was a '76 C10 I looked at buying a couple years ago, and it wasn't even a 6 cylinder. All the 6's I've seen for the last decade or better have been automatics.

My mom used to have a 77 C10 Scottsdale with the Heavy Half package, that was a 350/3 speed.

I'm so fuggin broke right now, but if I had a spare $45 I'd go to PAP and get that damn Saggy 3 speed that's there. The bellhousing and all is there. IIRC MOST of the Zbar clutch linkage is too but it was missing something. Maybe the clutch fork or the long rod, can't remember for sure now.

My friend in high school had an 81 Custom Deluxe with a 250 I6 3 on the tree with A/C and power steering. Only one I have ever seen with the last two options. His Grandpa bought it new and was living in Tuscon at the time so he had to get air.
