Painted door handlesand trim black to add some contrast. Too much red for me. Also tinted windows.


I always operate under the assumption that you can never have too much red!

Most of the Corvette guys think the aluminum intakes create too much of a heat sink to offset their other positive attributes. I have no personal opinion along those lines.

Nice vette. I've heard that too. Maybe if I was trying to build a 10 second car I would worry about the little things like that but that's not my goal with it.

Got my new rear shocks and springs on and diff serviced.

Can't believe I let them sit in the garage for about 8 months. The ride now is much improved!

The diff was popping when turning slow. So changed out oil and added slip additive an d now it's quit popping and making all that noise.

New fuel filter and #2 o2 sensor in bank 1.

Replaced the dash because GM put in a cracking pos. This one from eBay is guaranteed not to. Only time will tell.

I've always had mixed feelings about the center outlet setup. Do you have the rear bumper skirt to finish it off?


No that's why I'm still not sure if I wanna go that route. I do like the look with the bumper skirt cut out in the center. I would have to buy that too if I go that route.

After looking for the valence for the center mount exhaust I think I'm going to pass. They want $400 for it. :eek: yeah, not paying that for it although I do like the look.

A friend of mine recently parted out a '99 with the SLP tips and skirt. Is was a crossbred system with Magnaflow catback and stainless headers. I could have got the whole setup but didn't know what I'd do with it, lol.

Well the shop called today and like I expected the clutch took a **** on me. $1,400 to replace with all new clutch. I told him while he's in there to check out tranny too. It's been popping out of rev on me a lot. So I'll find out how much more it's gonna cost to have that issue corrected. Oh well, it's only money. Lol

I had a 99 SS with all SLP options from factory. Added sub-frame connectors, 4.11 gears, oil cooler, SLP autocross springs, short throw shifter, special rear end torque arm, chipped the motor.

Dragged it once - 13.78 on cold street tires. Then used it often on track days at VIR and Summit Point Raceway.

Car was a blast.

Well I got another call from Anthony at the shop. He told me that rev gear is broke and 2 forks are bent. Bet that's why it pops outta rev a lot. Lol it will be an extra $1,700 to replace rev gear, 2 new forks and all new bearings. So out the door about $3,200. **** I spent 3,300 on 05 Dakota auto transmission rebuild about 2 years ago. So guess that's about par for trans rebuilds these days. Get it back next week.

It's all ready. Got the call today. All new clutch and transmission. New plugs,wires,fuel filter and tuned. He said it was night and day difference after the tune. I've needed to tune it for 2 years now so I'm really excited to go get it tomorrow! I'll do a video of the difference between the tune and before.
