I've actually done this before. 1980 something Chevette in a drive under basement garage, doing an engine swap. David's stepdad was wedging 2x4s between the front bumper and the floor.I was like, what are you doing if this thing falls I'll be crushed and impaled by 2x4 fragments. I wasn't afraid of it falling, held up by chain hoist around basement beam. 2nd seperate log chain, safety chain around beam and front of car.
I grew up with chevettes because my dad always had one and ordering new a 1981 black chevette with the F41 ralley suspension (still in around lol). He used to change clutches with drive up ramps. He would set trans on his chest and change the clutch. Once he said he fell asleep underneath changing one out lol.

Getting closer! I ordered a little extra but Didn't expect to have enough to make a nice ramp into it. Brush finish so I might not slip so easily lol

I'm surprised you went with a broom finish. Is this going to be an exterior floor?

Hey Mr Concrete, I've got an unrelated question for you. The shop side of my barn has a concrete floor that has some kind of rough-ish and slightly lumpy surface. Is there some type of surface grinder I could possibly rent somewhere to smooth it out a bit? It makes it a little annoying to push cars around on wheel dollies.
