2" is out of the question since I already have a 4" shackle flip in the rear and I'd prefer to not replace that as it's just more work to do. Leaning toward stock springs on the rear and 4" tuff country/skyjacker soft rides on the front and 315/70/17 tires as that size seems to have a decent availability of tire options and all-season tires that can perform well in the snow are a necessity. If I need to go down, I can always do 305s or 285s.
AMP steps are out too because of reasons already mentioned, plus I don't like adding more complexity into something where it doesn't need to be. Just another failure point and something to go wrong down the road.
I didn't think about extended shock mounts, but I just remembered I have a set of ORD extended shock mounts I picked up a while back and never installed (since I didn't end up buying new shocks)
