Most wrecking yards are running out of Square Body parts...........BUT there's ALWAYS gonna be good looking girls hanging around, if you got a GM Square Body truck!!!!!
Our yard just got a new supply of squares.
Last time we were there, they had no squares and that was sad.

If you wouldnt mind please keep an eye open for an intermittent wiper switch for 78ish, a 3 port single wire tank switch valve and the cruise transducer on the inner fender for 78ish.

I'm pulling all of my functioning dual tank stuff right now and also have a transducer mounted on the inner fender that is also getting removed right now from my 1980. I believe mine is 6 port though, but I think yours should be too. Three port means no return, right? Do you not have vapor lock issues?

We are complete and test driven by the head mechanic.
Since we did not plan on the new springs when we initially tore it apart, I am not sure how much lift has been achieved. But it is there, as I can no longer see the roof easily.

Mr. @Maxwellvis has done another fantastic job on this project.

You can see his buddy in the background, he is lifting his Cherokee in my front yard.
I try to encourage all his buddies to have a good time.
They all have my phone number and ask me questions.

That's so awesome of you! That was my dad....RIP....
Our place was the spot where my buddies who didn't have as generous or knowledgeable or any dad at all would come over to fix their stuff.
Dad was always good for lending a hand or advice. He thought every boy should know how to fix their damn car!
He built a garage on the house when I was little after 15-20 years of working on stuff in the gravel and there was nary a night his and my moms vehicles got left outside. Unless there was something that was needing fixed. His only rule was 1 week max in the garage if its a big job like swapping an engine, better get it done or you're finishing your **** outside in the driveway! And he meant it.

(And he had a truck that looked like your C20, literally....same colors and all!)

Stupid thing still won't pass DEQ.
Max rebuilt the throttle body with a kit and a junkyard throttle body.
He redid all the seals in the kit as well as removed the ridge around the bores of the tbi to help with the air flow. It has more grunt, as well as a tip in hesitation. So if you jump on it, it stumbles for a second and then takes off.

A week ago the stock distributor module finally gave out randomly.
I have read they like to crap the bed often and this is the first one we have had to do on it in the 18 years we have had the Sub. We will start carrying a spare in the car just in case.

I also many years ago picked up a Proform "Hi-Performance GM Distributor" from the swap meet for a whole $20 that will get a new AC Delco D1987 pickup stator per the Harristuning web page and then it will be installed as I am sure my original distributor is in need of some help.

I also just ordered up a new cat and wye pipe for it. I have been putting it off for a while now as the cat that is under it I had installed probably 12 to 15 years ago. But the aftermarket ones I have read don't last forever and it is probably due.

I have also read that the factory wye pipe joint is a terrible joint from the factory that puts backpressure into the system. Knowing that helped me to swallow the price of this new one from Flowmaster. The photo on the Summit page looks far better than the stock piece.

This is a current photo from a couple weeks ago when I was forced to go into the office for the first time in 18 months...

I love how fast Summit ships their merchandise.
Ordered it on Monday and it is in my hands on Thursday.
New cat and wye pipe have arrived and look to be a much better design flow wise than the stock stuff.
The inlet for the drivers side is reportedly not a fun one to do if you have the cheaper part that is a solid welded unit without the slip joint, so we spent a bit more and picked the one with the slip joint.

The in and out piping looks to be stainless 409 pipe for long lasting goodness.
It looks like Sunday will be the day for the install as we have all day long to do the headers adn wye pipe installation work.

My order shipping from Summit wasn't as good as yours. Summit sent it out with GLS, a courier that I have never heard of and I don't want to ever again!! Ordered Sunday got an e-mail Monday am says it will be here Wednesday, but no tracking number. Waited impatiently, never came, got on the phone and Summit says "we will get right on it"......BS! Finally got it 5 days later. It came out of the Sparks facility, finally, by USPS, the mail!! Summit e-mailed and apologized all over themselves, I went back at them and said I'd rather have the post office or UPS deliver for me.....both have always been good to me!!!

They may be running out of them as well.
Also not great for cheap parts.
But that is where I have simply been putting the later model truck parts to use on the older models.

I may have found the issue.
Max pulled the existing Y pipe off it yesterday.

I went to shine my light down to see just how the catalytic block looked.
I could see all the way through it, so the cat deleted itself.
Most likely back when it was furiously backfiring due to the crappy "new" coil.

Yup.
From the ball connection to the other side where the two pipes come together, you can see where the fancy brick of science conversion should be located....

We have a broken stud that has to be removed from the drivers side manifold.
So that and getting some new studs is what is up for todays adventure.

Then maybe a trip to DEQ to see what we do with the proper equipment under there...

Huzzah!
I would say that this is well worth the money and trouble the new pipe cost.
Now we have passed the first idle emissions with flying colors.

New plates and tags will be procured from the DMV once I can go in as they will not sell you tags or plates if you are not on the title even if just renewing them, lame.
Only getting new plates as we have the older "tree" plates that Oregon has had for quite some time and we want to upgrade to the "Smokey the bear" plates that came out a year or two ago.

My wife was not happy that I had the Smokey plates on my RC truck well before she had them on her real one. It helps to have a buddy that makes the tiny plates for a living as he can whip a set out in no time for me....
