Some quick info
1986 Chevy 4x4
4" lift
35" Hercules Trail digger
I bought it half way through someone else build
Finished and used as my daily driver, Deadwood SD
When I identify the engine from the vin on the dash it shows it's a 305
PO added a Edlebrock carb, new distributor, and the engine has obviously been apart as the oil pan, intake etc all have gasket silicone around them.
I swapped to a 14 bolt rear end, added 5.13 gears back and front.

I have the choice of a 1998 vortec 350 with 140000 or a 1994 454 with <5000
I know the peanut Ports etc aren't very desirable but I am willing to get new fuel injection, intake etc for the 454... Also willing to do the same for the 350.

If anyone has worked with the 454 what FI system would you go with...EZ EFI or Holley HP EFI? Most of the wiring on the 454 has been corroded and worthless as the truck enjoyed a healthy drink in a stock pond, after that is when the engine was replaced with a crate one along with transmission. Within the 5k miles wiring or computer or something finally gave up.

The 350 I've had since 60k in my 98 that I bought from a salvage auction " it had hit a tree in Texas" I rebuilt the pickup my junior year of high school and it has been ver used.
