Yes sir I threw them in right after removing the led bulbs. Worked the exact same. I will note that I'm not always the biggest fan of lmc, as they usually kill you on shipping and some prices, and not all items are quality. But their led lights and quite a few other items are pretty nice pieces.

Hey PrairieDrifter - Received my LMC order today with my markers. GUESS WHAT!!!!!! They are EXACTLY like the ones I just returned to carID!!!! WTF!!!! Apparently Union Pacific is the only company that makes these. Again, no instructions. So, I am going to cut my socket, connect black to black, blue to red and use wire nuts for a temp check. IF!!!! everything works as it should. I will use low temp weld/heat shrink butt connectors to make a permanent fix.

Hey PrairieDrifter - Received my LMC order today with my markers. GUESS WHAT!!!!!! They are EXACTLY like the ones I just returned to carID!!!! WTF!!!! Apparently Union Pacific is the only company that makes these. Again, no instructions. So, I am going to cut my socket, connect black to black, blue to red and use wire nuts for a temp check. IF!!!! everything works as it should. I will use low temp weld/heat shrink butt connectors to make a permanent fix.

I would like to apologize for sending you on a little bit of a goose chase. Both my tail lights and marker lights from LMC were plug and play, so I'm pretty baffled that the one led set out of like 4 or 5 doesn't plug and play. I even had led markers and tails on my 70 c10 (lmc lights) they were plug and play and worked great too!

If I were you, I would see if you could find a pigtail that will connect to the trucks existing connector then you can just attach you wire leads to the pig tail, to make it your own plug and play system. Instead of cutting off your plug, and hardwiring. Either way will work fine. I would rather have a disconnect point there.

Okay PrairieDrifter - I received my pigtails today. Went out, stripped both sets of wires back about 1/2 inch, wirenut them together and grounded the light on a screw connector. Turned on ignition (did not start truck). Lights off, both the directional under headlights and turn signal blinked. Pulled headlights on - directional under headlights blinked, new side markers did not. Started truck, still no blink. Decided I would unplug the headlights and see if the signals would work. Lights off, worked, lights pulled on WORKED!!!!!! Hmmmmmmm, plugged in headlight, STILL WORKING!!!! Turned off signal and lights. Waited a few second and tried again!!! Works!!!!!


THANK YOU!!! for suggesting the pigtails!!! I now just need to cut back the wire on the light (because the red wire is over 1 ft long but not the black) and splice them together using my low heat solder/heat shrink connectors. So glad I do not need to cut my original sockets off.

No worries! Just shorten up those pigtails pretty short, not too short. The ones I've got have a little extra length so you're not trying to squeeze your hand in there, to plug the damn things in.

Glad you got it figured out! Sounds like you might have some corrosion or connection issues? If you unplugged the headlights, then the sidemarkers started working fine, then even after you plugged the headlights back in. Sounds to me like you either have a wire that may have internal damage, or you're having connection issues at some connectors.

I would go around your light connectors and inspect and clean them with electrical connector cleaner, then maybe a dab of di-electric grease.

Hmmmm.... i have LEDs in my cluster and dome but the outside lights wouldnt agree so i gave up. Im sorry, maybe someone a lil more electrical knowledgable can input help here.

Well, all is not happy.......I spoke too soon. Back to old problem. BUT!!!! here is a new quirk. I plugged in the marker to the passenger side, hit the lights and it all works as it should. W.....T......F........ I am so over this. Contacted company I bought headlights from. They are saying resistors will help. UUUGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!! Can I pass an inspection without the markers blinking when the headlights are on???? They will be lit up just not blink when headlights are on.

Technically no, I don't think that would fly. The guy is going to pull the knob for the lights and then check blinkers.

A lot of places won't even let you in the garage area for inspections. The usual deal is two guys verify the outside lights, one inside and one outside. Then they check the engine bay and everything underneath.

I have been going to the same place for years. I do hang out with the truck and we ******** about cars while he picks over ol brown. The state likes to screw over inspection places so they have become more thorough.


If you could manipulate the situation and be the one to operate the lights yourself. Showing the blinkers work first and then hit the headlights. You might be able to get a pass but you still wouldn't have working lights with the headlights on apparently.

Your issues are part of the reason why I haven't gone led. That and the lights and the ignition are the only things electrical on ol brown...it's far from a stressed system.
