Can someone please tell me if the front maker lights on a 1978 Chevy C10 are supposed to blink when the turn signal is engaged? Since I am normally driving, I really do not know if they are supposed to blink or not.

Thanks.

By front markers you mean on the fenders or above the bumper? Yes they both blink when the turn signals are on.

Yes, the ones on front fender - the ones below headlights work fine. I am havimg an issue with the fender side markers. I have switched to LEDs and they are the only ones that are acting up. Headlights off, they blink. Headlights on, they do not blink and do not light up. I checked polarity on bulbs and it made no difference.

Honestly i did this same thing with my 78, they do not like LEDs. I gave up and went back to regular incan bulbs. You can buy and wire in load resistors to make them blink correct but i wasnt hacking up my wires.

I have the reverse polarity relays which straightened a few things out. This is the only thing left. :(

Is it just one side acting up? I've got led's on my license plate, domes, courtesy, dash, 4x4 shift indicator on floor, sidemarkers and full led taillights and reverse lights.

All I ever did was throw in both led relays for the hazards and turn signal, and everything has worked properly just like factory, like blinker times and that. Other than not being able to dim the dash lights, this an 84 though.

On all squares the sidemarker and front marker blink opposite of each other. So when the front blinks the side shuts off and vice versa, same with headlights on and off.

Both side markers will not blink when headlights are on and signal engaged. The front turn signal under the headlight works fine because it is a dual function.

I have a similar issue with my ‘80 K25. Replaced everything with LED bulbs. Did you install load equalizing resistors?

The sidemarkers are dual function as well. I would try a different led possibly, maybe put a meter on it, but if it works fine with regular bulbs it shouldn't be a problem, especially if you have the relays. Maybe try with the regular flasher relays?

I haven't changed my 79 yet but was planning on doing soon.

I did try putting back in the original incandescent bulbs but with the LED relays, they barely would blink. I have 3 types of dual function ordered. Hopefully!!!!!! One will work. They are the wedge 164 bulbs I am replacing.
