Finding service info for this car is hard, anyone know what that push button box there on the fender well is? It appears a voltage regulator is near it andthere appears to be a control unit of some kind in the edge of the photo

thank you, right on the nose, the owner never has to buckle so someone probably bypassed it

I had forgotten all about those. '74 only, maybe ? One of the 1st big guv intrusions into automobiles beyond EPA regs.

So universally hated im pretty sure every manufacture stopped by 75 and the law requiring was quickly pulled back
