So my sister has an 09 Malibu. Long story short, the water pump took a dump, she got it hot and either blew a head gasket or cracked the head. The dealership is saying $2000 to replace the gasket, $3000 to replace the head. Where is my best bet finding a new head for the damn thing? My mechanic at work will replace the head for $400. Im not up on all these new fangled DOHC motors so im not sure what to expect to pay for parts.

That sucks. I aint up on all the new stuff either.

My boss hit a parking stop about 2 years ago with his $250,000 Maserati and busted open the bottom of his radiator. He drove it anyway and fried the motor. $50,000 to replace. He just did it again Friday. And he yells at me about our driver's habits. :wtf: :shitsweak:

He's also been through about 8 rims and tires.

I'd replace the motor, they don't put up with any kind of abuse at all.

My dad just told the dealership to put a new head on it, then dropped the full coverage, put the liability ins in her name and told her she was on her own lol.

The dealership got the head off and found that the PO filled it full of liquid glass. Interesting convo between my dad and the PO.

Because they were dicks. He paid them just short of $7k for that car and just put a $4000 head on it.
