Looking for a replacement frame/ chassis for my ‘86 K30

Not on this forum that I know of. It's a business located in central PA. He buys up CUCV K30s and parts them out. He also builds axles and does drivetrain work. He has a stack of nice K30 frames for sale. I bought my SRW K30 rolling chassis from him. https://www.hillbillywizard.com/

    Bypass hose

See picture: The heater core pressure line comes off upstream of the "closed" thermostat and allows coolant flow before the thermostat opens.

    Bypass hose

I think the heater core coolant circuit does the same thing as bypass hose on BBC.

That's a pretty big cam. It will probably like alot of initial advance. You running vacuum advance?

    Timing light recommendations

2nd the Innova dial back timing light. The light is very bright. The dial back feature is way nicer than trying to use a degree sticker that always flies off the balancer. O'reillys and other auto parts stores carry them in stock.

    Mark IV 454 Engine Build

I would go with what ever domed pistons you need for 10:1 comp ratio and a hydraulic roller cam with intake duration in the mid 200s at .050".

    Wiring harness options

I just did my 79 K30 with American Auto Wire kit #510347. Came out great. The alternator power wiring and main cab power arrangement is much better than the stock setup. Hardest part was mastering the old delphi-packard crimp connectors.

    Gas Gauge pegs at E

I would check the wiring from the tank up to the gauge first.

    Gas Gauge pegs at E

Positive wire from sending unit top terminal to fuel gauge is grounded. If you pull the positive wire off the top terminal the gauge should read way past full.

Rattle can noise when accelerating from stop

You mean lifter noise. Maybe the dist. cap got bumped and advanced the timing a little too much?

K30 power steering return hose questions

Thanks. It took forever to bleed the power steering and was wondering if the hose connections could have been the problem.

K30 power steering return hose questions

Hi Folks My K30's power steering pump has two return ports. One faces up and one is angled down. I have the power steering box draining into the upward facing return port. The hydrobooster drains to the downward facing port. Is this correct and does it matter which return goes where?

Blower resistor. That's how you get low and medium speeds.

    Filler neck components

You need the correct filler neck and brackets/hardware for what ever year bed you have. I would get an 80's style fuel tank with the larger fuel fill port to got along with the 84 filler neck. As previously noted above, LMC has nice pictures of the different filler necks and bed brackets/hardware

    Problem solved

You should remove the thermostat and make sure the coolant passageway under it is clean and open to the (2) 1/2" NPT plugs on either side of T-stat housing and the (1) 1/2" NPT plug on front of manifold. If that coolant passage is open and clear, run your heater core return line to the 1/2" NPT...
