You drove 130,000 miles on a set of tires?
am I miss reading this you were able to get 130,000 miles out of a set of tires? I want those. My assumption is I have misread this. I was unaware any tire could be safe on the street after 50,000.
I would agree. Depends on what you’re gonna do with this vehicle if it is going to be a street driven vehicle but also taken off road Bill‘s 5100 or 5125 series cannot be beat for the price point if it’s gonna be driven 99% of the time on the street, go with the Skyjacker or any other hydraulic...
"I measured the eye to eye sitting on the ground and they are 20.5""
Is this stock or aux position? More vertical aux position will have longer travel and be more effective.
Mine sits at 21" and ive tried both positions with 33-230320 and 33-185606 the valving is different as well as the...
Bilstein 33-185590 front stock position
21.5” ext
13.5 collapsed
8.1” travel
255/70 valving
Bilstein 33-230320 front AUX position
24.35” ext
15” collapsed
9 1/4” trav
360/80 valving
The Ranchos were on the Jimmy when I purchased it. was way to stiff for me. The photo is for the stock set up...
Bilstien I prefer the Aux position more vertical more travel 360/80 valving.
Stock position is less travel and lighter 255/70 valved shocks.
I went with 33-230344 10.00 travel 25.9 ext 15.9 collap 360/80 valving in the Aux position on my 89'
Handled better on the highways getting to and from...
I had same issue 89' TBI I was lacking power and overlooked my timing. The smog test guy had set my timing to 0* to pass. I reset it to 8*BTC made a noticeable difference!
Rough Country ride stiff
Tuff Country ride less stiff
Skyjacker soft ride maybe slightly better ORD customs max travel and softest ride but quite a few dollars more
2.5-3” is plenty if not plowing through rocky/rutted out roads
Keep 8-9” rims when you go 10” more chance of rubbing rear of...

I know you already purchased parts, I made the mistake by buying AC Delco Gold/professional parts they were cheap chinese and had play in them so I had to do my front end twice stick with OEM AC Delco or Moog. If you havent installed yet
Everyone has their own opinion for me the auxiliary position more vertical up and down makes my truck handle much better but I do have the 5100s as far as the bottom bolt. I would run it through both holes with a long bolt.
Amazon has these for C10 MOOG Steering & Suspension ES409RT Tie Rod End, Black $18 MOOG ES409LT Tie Rod End $19
I bought drag links and tie rods for my K5 from Moog and they were still made in USA
AC DELCO Gold or professional are trash
While trying to get to my oil pressure sender, it was so buried I decided to take cap and rotor off to make room and noticed this rusty looking dust under distributor Cap. Should I clean it up with electrical cleaner? K5 is running smooth but I'd rather not get stuck in some remote location. If...
