Why automotive grounds are important.
What hurts my brain is thinking about that statement coupled with the fact that my '59 MGA has a 12v positive ground system. Hooking up a battery with the positive lead going straight to the frame always makes me turn my head a little and expecting lots of sparks and noise.- skysurfer

Clunking and banging on acceleration
You'll need to check the motor mounts beyond obvious signs of breakage. I had a situation where the rubber inside the clamshells degraded and allowed the motor to torque-over far enough for the driveline to make contact with the crossmember.- skysurfer

Are pneumatic tools obselete?
I’m in no rush when working under the hood so it’s hand tools only. I do use air when I rotate tires and wouldn’t switch to batteries just because I like the sound the gun makes when the lug nuts break loose. Makes me feel like I’m on a nascar pit crew. -

Great looking truck! Something to check on the cruise control issue is the cc servo. It’s the round diaphragm connected to the throttle linkage. Mine had a small crack in the dried-out rubber and that was keeping it from working.- skysurfer

Front Air intake cowl question
It isn't attached to anything at the lower drain section, just the two screws at the top hold it on. If it's rattling, it's probably making slight contact on the side towards the radiator where the air intake flanges butt up to the core support.
