I’d take it, but for our smog laws. Everything would need to be original under the hood and I’m just not willing to take that gamble on an out of state gasser post 1975 model year.
What! Just put an electric conversion kit in it. We all know you already have a charging station in your garage for the Tesla. :slap:

I'd put money on that not being the original drivetrain or at least not the engine. Only time I've seen an I6 in a heavy truck was a cab and chassis and I've never seen that combo with AC.

I don’t even think Commiefornia would like repowering a non-smog exempt vehicle with an electric motor. Plus, we have all observed how ridiculous current tech in an EV truck is, when it comes to being an actual truck.

I didn't even get into that in my post. It looks like a pile for that price. Is a beat up crew cab really worth almost 9K? Certainly not to me.

It's in Yuma, Arizona... not surprised they would pick the base model and then just add AC.

292 and SM465 was the base model engine and transmission for all 3/4 and 1 ton GM truck from the 70's through the 1988 model year. Every other engine or transmission was an upgrade from base.

For nearly 10 years I used a link to the the GM Heritage Center that listed the complete 1982 Chevy truck specs -- standard and optional engines and transmissions, brake packages, etc. However, the link now "redirects" me to a new page that's nothing but advertising BS. Can't find those actual GM specs anywhere. They would have told me which model trucks were available with which engines and transmissions. I remember being surprised that you could get an I6 in just about anything. And, as I recall, the lowly 250-six was standard in a K20. Probably had a 4.10 axle, though!

I'd love to know the gear ratio on this truck. I've seen a few 292 trucks over the years and all of them have been 4.56, could be a coincidence but it would add to the cool parts list.

The 292 I6 was the standard engine in this truck in 1982.

A little different, but I had a 65 C20 (obviously a standard cab), with the 292, the precurser to the SM456 (I've forgotten it's designation) and the 4.56 rear end. It would move anything I asked it to off the line with ease. The down side of course is you just didn't go much over 60, at least not for very long. At 60 you hit 3K RPM.
