    use a .125 ( 1/8 inch) allen key, drill bit anything that size.should fit between the teeth of the flex plate and starter. So when you try to start it the starter snaps the drive out and it gets stuck on the flexplate it does not try to rotate the engine but the starter drive gets stuck on...

    The extra pressure in reverse would make a weak link,or u joint as the case may be will show up and it's that KINDA noise. Besides it never hurts to put good u-joints in.Just drove it...took it for a ummm..spirited test drive and didnt feel any shake from the drive shaft.. and me chasing that...

    I dont have a kit either. I treated this noise like it was someone elses truck....been doing this way to long...going to take it in to one of the garages i run and leave it.... i swear its a very metallic CLANK and only in reverse..AND it doesnt do it every time.
