    Carbon monoxide poisoning

    Alternator?

The no idle condition was a bad MAF sensor, misfiring was from bad ignition coil and spark plug wires. I believe it’s road worthy again after also replaced the power steering pump and replaced the o-rings in the two aluminum elbows. Still have a minor oil and tranny pan gasket leak to resolve...

305 SBC vs 6.2 Detroit: Which would you rather?

6.2, diesel’s are awesome, way more to work with to improve it. However, I wouldn’t waste my time driving it during the winter season especially the very cold days. Working at the dealership in the 80s, we would tow the diesel into the shop rather than trying to get them started out in the cold...

What have you done to your square lately??

The Doors! It will be a twenty footer and maybe a ten footer after a wet sand and buff. Spraying plenty of paint to flatten it out later. One knatt had to be extracted, paint didn’t lay down very well today for some reason?

    Door gap

That’s what it looked like before I started to work on it. The door is off and I plan to paint the top part of the two tone so I am going to tape it off based on the cab tape line. It looks like a 1/4” but looking for a sanity check?

What have you done to your square lately??

Bed pushed back to allow me to sand, paint and upgrade fuel system. Hopefully, I will get a warm day after tomorrow since it’s supposed to get cold and I won’t have time tomorrow to get r done. Since I’m working solo, I removed the bumper. It wasn’t too bad pushing it backwards.

What have you done to your square lately??

After work, I Removed the two bolts I couldn’t get yesterday. The high speed grinder took care of what the drill couldn’t. The square holes are round which explains why they rotated when hit with the impact. I will need to purchase some square washers to weld to the bed. Can one buy those or...

What have you done to your square lately??

Removed 6 of the 8 bed bolt nuts; four were easy with the impact gun, 2 not bad with a 1/2” ratchet. The last two will need to be drilled tomorrow since it got dark and cold. I tried welding angle iron but couldn’t penetrate the bolt for some reason. Maybe tomorrow after work I can get it done...

What have you done to your square lately??

Thank you! Agree, cab interior was a challenge. I guessed a day or two of prep work. It took a couple of weeks in my spare time from beginning to end for disassemble, sanding, taping, priming and painting. In a few areas I probably will wet sand and buff to finish it off. Ton of work and I’m...

    Rotor discoloration, pulsing

It turned out to be a warped rear rotor, the metal tab which keeps the pads off the rotor was worn off, unsure why it wore off but bottom line it’s repaired. Replaced the axle bearing, seal and changed the front differential fluid. Next, change the rear differential fluid….always something...
