    Interior Lights Stay On

The switches are providing a ground path to turn on the lights. So if the wire gets pinched or wore through somewhere and it can touch metal it’ll make the lights stay on

    Correct power steering pump

disclaimer: I don't know a lot about the v belt setups on these trucks so take this advice as is. I think your power steering pump should be spaced out so the belt from the water pump/crank rides on the inner sheave of the power steering pump and then the ac compressor gets driven off the outer...

    K20 wheel studs

I replaced all 16 on the rear of my k20 and 5 or so of the fronts when I did brakes all the way around. Rock auto had the best price by far. $1.97/each. Local places wanted like $6/each and they only had 1 or 2 in stock at a time.

    Brake issue

Rebuilt master cylinder or new? To me it sounds like a bad master cylinder. Many of the rebuilt ones are worse then what you take off

    Holley Dissection Inspection...

The having to ease into it sounds like you need a bigger accelerator pump shot. But its always good to check and set timing.

    Engine runs hot

What electric fan do you have? A good mechanical clutch fan will out pull almost any electrical fan.

    Holley Dissection Inspection...

Most of the carb cleaners say to remove any plastic or nylon pieces before soaking them. You’re going to want to take the carb completely apart remove all gaskets etc. The floats aren’t that hard to take off. Remove the e clip on the pivot stud and the float just slides off. You should take it...

    What could this noise be?

Is it only when you’re stepping on the brakes? If it’s only after new tires check to see if they put stick on weights inside the rim theatre hitting the calipers or drums. Also check lug nut torques.

500 miles was 6 tanks of gas?! I get almost 400 miles to the tank in the charger and even my brother driving like he stole it used to get 300-350 miles per tank in his challenger. You were really pushing that thing haha.

    Center bolt valve cover question

Its supposed to have a short piece of metal tube that gets connected to the stock air cleaner so it can draw filtered air into the crankcase. Not sure if there is a push o breather with that small of a diameter on it. Not my truck just a picture I found on google.

    Help with Gauges

I don't think its a gauge cluster ground issue. Its a ground at one of the 4 turn signals. Every time I have had a turn signal indicator light come on steady like that its a bad ground at one of the lights. And the back lighting could be blinking because its back feeding through the parking...

    Fuel tank leak

Did you take a hose clamp off that end? there should be one on there so if you haven't removed one yet then yes I'd say there's one hiding under there.

    Fuel tank leak

Slice down the side with a razor blade and try to get a pick or small flathead under it to release the bond. Sometimes after you slice it if you can get a pair of curved jaw channel locks around it you can get it to twist and it'll loosen up.

    Cab Bolt Diameter and Length!?

I just bought the kit from LMC for an 85 and the bolts were flange head 1/2-13 by 3 1/2" long. Your 79 will have longer bolts for the rear 2 cab mounts if its a 4wd or 3/4 ton. I believe they are a 1/2-13 by 5" long

What did you have the steering set to? They have electric power steering so you can adjust it from normal to comfort or sport. I've never driven a "performance" car to compare it to but I don't really notice vague steering or foggy brakes. Coming from my last car a pos Audi a4 this car was a...

My daily driver is a 2015 Dodge Charger with the v6 and awd. Honestly after you’ve driven the 5.7 the v6 will be a let down. It’s fast enough to get you into trouble for sure but it’s not 5.7 fast. And no it won’t break all 4 loose unless your beating the hell out of it coming around a corner...

    Question about dash air vents

So that’s a non ac control then. Someone probably swapped your gauge cluster surround and dash pad to an ac one because it was in better shape at some point. Same reason my dash pad had the passenger vents in it haha

    350 standard temp in Arizona.

Hotter running engines run more efficient which causes less wear. All oem’s have been running thermostats around 195° since the 80’s for a reason. Also a higher thermostat keeps water in the radiator longer so it can shed more heat.

    Question about dash air vents

Does your hvac control have ac controls in it? If it does it sounds like you have an ac truck. Ac trucks all the air diversion was done through a vacuum system. Even the outside vents in the kick panels were opened and closed by vacuum pods depending on what setting you have it on. I’ve seen a...

    Pinion seal question

After I install u joints I always give the top of the “hoop” part a little tap with a hammer. Sometimes the hoop gets bent inward a little with the force of pressing them in and the tap relieves the pressure and the u joints usually move more freely after that

    Question about dash air vents

If it’s a non ac cab/heater setup then the only place air should come out is the defroster or the floor. There were not originally vents in the dash around the cluster or the passenger side dash pad unless it was an ac truck. Yours must have been swapped in at some point.

    Advice on rebuilding control arms

Have you checked out rock auto prices? You can get their cheapest brand control arms with new shafts, bushings, and ball joints for $50 for the lowers and $20 for the uppers. That's only $140 both sides all brand new. I don't think they would last 50,000 miles but for that price I wouldn't...

    Another dieseling thread

Sounds good. Also, rock auto sells the idle solenoid’s new with the bracket if you’re like me and don’t have a junkyard to source parts from. AC Delco part 2142138. They call it an “idle stop solenoid”

    Another dieseling thread

My 85 will diesel with a crappy tank of gas in it too. I adjusted the timing up so I could lower the idle and that took care of it but it pinged too easily on hills so I had to back it off. And usually if I let the clutch out when its dieseling it'll cause a backfire which is more embarrassing...

    Wiring nightmare!

You've got a host of problems. I would start with checking/cleaning all grounds and bulb sockets. I know any time I've had the turn signal indicator lights light up in the dash on cars I've owned its always been a bad ground.
