    Additional Tie Down Anchor Points

I also need better tie down points. Maybe from the bed of a newer truck at a junkyard/PAP?

What have you done to your square lately??

Went to the junkyard yesterday and scored some good parts. Air intake duct, two intermittent wiper modules, under hood retractable work light and a hood release cable for 20 bucks.

What have you done to your square lately??

Did an oil change. Installed new front air dam. Tried to install new air intake cold tube. But it is way too long. Picked the one from LMC that is supposed to be for my year truck. Bought a new stereo and a marine box to install it in, like 1Low4X4 did.

What have you done to your square lately??

Replaced the turn signal switch Friday. Then drove over to Woodward and cruised a little for the pre-Dream cruise. Went back over Saturday afternoon, mostly watched the cruise but took the truck out and "cruised" (sat in traffic). Lots of cool cars out. For those of you who have never...

Traded a Kawasaki for a Dodge...

Yeah, that reminds me of the '62 Chevy pickup I had. I sat on the inner fender to adjust the carb.

Best reupholstery kit for bench seat

Complete replacement of old seat. My original seat was all velour but the outer edge was trashed from the driver getting in and out. So for the replacement I went with vinyl and velour thinking the outside edge will last longer in vinyl but velour will be cooler to sit on. Not quite as...

1986 C20 Hard Start When Cold

Also, if its carburated are you pressing the gas pedal once or twice before cranking? It may be a simple question but if you've only driven fuel injected cars before you may not know to do that with a carb.

What have you done to your square lately??

Drove mine from our vacation home to home, about 170 miles. Good news is that after adjusting the carb and adding a dryer duct cold air hose up to the air cleaner I increased mpg from 9 to 10! There are several car shows at work over the next couple of weeks and then I'm gonna do the...

    Plug and Chug

    LMC has one. $39.95.

Dang fuel mileage!! (Insert sarcasm font)

Don't worry, it won't last. The gauge seems to hang out at or slightly over full for a long time and then suddenly drops like a rock. I rarely fill mine completely since it sits most of the time and only gets driven 20 or so miles a weekend. Well a few weeks ago I had to make a longer trip...

    gas tank problem

By overflow hose do you mean the small vent hose that runs along the filler pipe? A clogged vent hose can also cause the fuel to spit out while filling.

Headlight harness upgrade and modification to 4 highbeams

Mine is pretty stock as far as I know. I'll check it out tomorrow and reply. If I remember correctly you are right Jerry.

    454 TBI - A couple questions

My temp rise is fast enough that idling during a long traffic light is long enough for it to go up. I watch my gages constantly and the temp will be fine while driving, if I'm at a light and glance down it always made me panic for a second until I got used to this truck. As soon as you start...

    454 TBI - A couple questions

I drove my truck quite a bit this weekend and noted the following. Stock 454 with stock oil pump. Cold oil pressure is right at 60 psi, drops down to around 45 once warm. I previously had just a mechanical gauge and it showed the same thing, these readings are from the cluster gage, I've...

    Performer EPS vs Performer Air-Gap?

Did you have to do anything to that dryer duct to make it fit other than making it oval? I'd thought about using one but it seemed too big.

    Neutral switch replacement/adjust help needed

I'm not sure how to remove the switch but it is adjustable. You can push it either clockwise or counter-clockwise to get it adjusted. It will make a scratchy ratcheting sound as you move it. My truck started fine but the reverse lights would only come on if I pulled up the gear shift lever...

What are these things under the dash?

I think the blue box is the optical encoder for the cruise control.
  18. GTME94

What have you done to your square lately??

Put a oil pressure sending unit on so the gauge in the dash works. It previously only had a mechanical gauge. I need to get a bushing so I can re-install the mechanical gauge. Or get a tee so I can also install the oil pressure/choke switch. However that connector is fried so I currently...

    AC hose routing

High pitched squeak in the front

Can you check to confirm if it is vehicle speed or engine speed related? While driving the truck put the trans in neutral to see if the noise stays constant with vehicle speed and rev the engine to see if it changes with engine speed.

    head liner ?

Has anybody used a vinyl type material for the headliner? I've noticed that LMC sells a fabric or vinyl type. I'm thought that the vinyl would be a lot easier to clean and possibly less chance of falling down if the fabric comes loose from the foam backing?

    Best fitting big block headers?

I'm keeping an eye on this. Mine has stock steel tubular manifolds with bellows and they have a few leaks. I'm gonna eventually have to put something else on.

What have you done to your square lately??

Washed the winter off mine and vacuumed it out. Used it to tow the boat. Found out my cruise control works at least intermittently. Cruise worked while driving empty to get the boat. It didn't work later on that day. Thanks to the diagnostic info that 89S uploaded, I'll be checking out the...

Front air dam, 4" or 5.5"?

That is exactly why I've thought about putting a 5.5" on mine. Even a fraction of a mpg would help.

    Door jamb switch

I did this doorjamb switch in a toolbox back when I was in college. Had a light in the toolbox, also had it wired into an alarm system so if the box was opened it'd set off the alarm just like the doors.
