Those Dodges look pretty darn close to the Squares...next best thing in my book. Possibly even more rare too

Did a little tinkering today, nothing big just a few touches here and there...

Made a knob for the shifter

Like I said needs some attention.. but it runs like a sewing machine, quite a bit more power than I figured it would have with that tiny carb.. supposed to have an RV cam but stock otherwise..

Man that brings back memories. Notice that top and bottom tank radiator.

Yeah, that reminds me of the '62 Chevy pickup I had. I sat on the inner fender to adjust the carb.

There definitely isn't a shortage on room in the engine bay of this one.. I love how simple and un-cluttered it is too, looks like there's just enough stuff for it to run. I expect that on 70's or older ride but, not on a 86.. Dodge really had their **** together back then..

I really like the way it looks.. I really dig the way the exhaust manifolds are made also.. probably not great for power but I plan on leavin em just cause I like the way they look too..

Those 318s are tanks. my dad had an 86 short bed when I was a kid. Had just under 400k on it when he traded it for something with a back seat. I almost bought a 4wd short bed with a 360 and a 4 speed before I bought my square, but the guy sold it before I could drive to Tulsa to get it. Looks like a solid truck that will last you a good long time. Nice find.

I like this.

Old trucks are cool period, I'd even have a Ford if it had either the 300 I6 or a 6.9 IH Diesel with a manual trans.

I'd have to agree on the 80's 300 I6 motor, that was a hell of a torque monster. A buddy of line had a '85 F250' with that motor. A few years later he was all excited to get his hands on the next generation F150 with the same motor fuel injected. But he said it was no match for that older carbed I6.

Appreciate the compliments... the more I drive this thing the more I like it.. I would also have to agree, the 300 straight six is one of the best engines I have ever owned.. had an 84 F150 longbed 2wd a while back, loved that truck. Only reason I got rid of it was so I could buy my dads 79 Cheyenne.. less than a year later some dipshit pulls out in front of me and it gets totaled..
