Yeah I have heard that a time or 2 about band aides for the 10 bolt.
I have been looking for what ever I can get my hands on for the dark days. Only times I come across anything I am sitting on boat and they are gone by the time I get home.
Ahhh the life of an oil field hand.
Yeah my slip yolk is trashed but thats cool. I am pretty sure I can pick one up for next to nothing.
And to have a spare is always a plus. If you make your way down south let me know.
I came across that this afternoon. I was considering messaging to see if they have a rear drive shaft as well. I don't want to come off of $500 for a custom shaft.
Would love another hard top to cut for a summer top, drivers door/fender, cheap drive shaft.... Hell I can probably find use of a lot of an entire donor. Just to keep it out of the crusher
For the extent of the parts have you checked out copart? You may be able to find a donor near you that would cut a lot of cost.
But if you are dead set on aftermarket I haven't tried anything on a square but Keystone used to have some pretty well fitting aftermarket body panels for 90s 00s...
Welcome.
For the wheel size I think the vehicle will burst into flames with anything over a 16.5" wheel.
On a serious note for a wheel that size would have to be narrow as hell I would imagine.
Mine got hit with the pressure washer the other day since it has been sitting for a couple years and half the paint blew off the hood. It is a sight now lol. Looks like the sealer had zero bond to the paint. No big deal. Once things get straight I am just gonna rhino line the whole damn thing...
I could have kept it short and sweet but I woke up this morning full of shit. Not to mention 2 16oz cups of coffee laced with espresso to really get the juices flowing.
70 on the highway and it cut loose from the slip yolk on the t case. So the u joint probably broke. At least the slip was still in the case. Went back looking for it while waiting for a wrecker but it was with no avail.
It must have either one sprouted wings and flew to heaven or its mangled...
Anyone have any opinions on custom rear shafts? I lost mine over a year ago and am about to order a custom shaft. Throw your opinions my way!... Or of anyone jas one laying around and can ship it to me would be tits as well.
Buffing wheel, weld through primer, panel bond and spot welds. Works like a charm for changing complete quarter panels and bed sides. As if you will find out that is all that holds most vehicles together.
My neighbor was at Pull A Part in Lafayette the other day and they have an 89 full size there. I should be going there in the next 2 weeks to snatch her top off and drive shaft if it is still under her. May also strip down more if much else is left. I can let you know unless if you wanna run W...
Just be aware of the weight and awkward position you may be in if you are laying under the vehicle pulling it. They can be a little heavy when you are on your back with little room.
