    You might be able to use some 1000 or 2000 grit sandpaper then buff the lenses with a buffer to get rid of the haziness. I did this with a set of challenger headlight assemblies that someone had taken a scotch bright pad to. Sanded them and buffed them and they turned out perfect!

    Metal rubbing sound in front axle

    I had a weird rattle on mine that seemed to always happen on a bump or pothole, looked for it forever and finally found out it was my outside brake pad wasn't totally snug, tabs were bent and caliper bolts weren't holding it very tight. No more rattle! May not be your issue but worth a quick check.

    Probably a rocker tapping, look up how to tighten rocker arms, can be a little messy but if you can get your valve cover off and start it, back the but on the rocker off till it chatters a little then tighten a little till it goes away then do a 1/4 to 1/2 turn more, do this to all and you...

    Even if you push a dent out you'll have high spots around where the dent was, that's why your need a hammer and dolly, or pull what you can of it then fill it and paint

    Precision is a good brand, stay away from airtek. Sometimes you can get a bad pump, seen it a few times actually.

    That's what I was thinking,I planned on buying new bolts etc when I get it all repaired. should I grind the star head part off or through the square nut side? I had an idea of drilling through the star bit side, just don't want to do a lot of unnecessarydamage to the bedside.

    I started taking my stepside bed apart and other than bolts snapping easily, I'm having trouble with the star bit bolts that hold the fenders on and the square head nuts that hold the bed wood down. Where can I get the socket or should I just grind them all off?

    73-87 (91) Fleetside Tailgate Mechanism Repair

    It amazes me how weak the tailgate handles are, but seen to last for a long time. seems it doesn't take much at all to bend the handles, if I wasn't switching to the stepside bed bed I'd be relocating the handle to the inside and get the new handle in there then weld up the outside hole! Lol...

    Sometimes you have to adjust the brackets where the tailgate locks on to but other than those and the bottom brackets that hold the tailgate on are the only adjustment areas.

    That's what my toughts were, just wasn't sure if the sheet metal would hold up to welding. New federswiuld work but I'm scared to get them and they dnt match up well...kind of a catch 22

    Mostly rusted, might be able to salvage some of it but looks to me once I unbolt it , it will hardly have any of that lip left. Will have to get pics, I had some but somehow they weren't saved to my phone
