This is one device I have on my car hauler. Its not perfect, but it helps. BTW, this is a stock photo. I also have the BullDog hitch locked with a device by Master Lock that makes cutting or sawing in two very difficult.

    Basic valve cover questions

Actually that air intake tube does deliver outside air through the 4" hole in the radiator support which has to be cooler than the "under hood" air on summer days. Beside... I like it.

    87 R20 5.7L Dying when Idling

What rpm does it idle at? I'm thinking the PCV valve should be on the other side and a tube from the air cleaner should plug into the port its currently occupying.

    Basic valve cover questions

I went with rubber gaskets without any sealant. After preparing the covers by sanding, painting and re-sanding paint off the ribs, this is what I ended up with. Before... After... Now have to work on the plug wire routing.

    Ratcheting Wrenches

The Sears at the mall near me closed in January. I never went there often anyway. I bought the HF racheting box-ends (metric & SAE) last year and have been happy with them... so far.

Legs TOO short. Need side steps

Thanks for the compliment. Mostly it was mounted too far forward and made using it awkward. If you go that route, be sure it's where you want it before you start drilling holes in the rocker. I felt about middle of the door would have been better. Here's a pic that shows it better...

Legs TOO short. Need side steps

I had this step mounted on driver's side only. The gas tank on passenger side didn't provide the clearance I wanted, plus let the passenger climb in. ;-) I really didn't care for the step, so I removed it and cobbled together these side bars from stuff I had saved over the years. Truckin' in Georgia...

Hi all. Just joined a short while back. Bought my '78 Silverado K10 from a buddy of mine last year after he purchased a new one. Just a few slight mods from stock to make it my own. Now sports BFG ATs and chrome trim rings.
