Ya you gotta be careful the bigger/nicer the car you get the bigger the discount. It has kicked people to the next tax bracket sometimes.

I’m sure you have thought it out and it works for you. I’m still scratching my head over the income because of a discount thing, just sounds sketchy somehow.

Sounds like it's a credit on his paycheck, towards the cost of the vehicle (thus, a "discount" on the vehicle). It just sucks that it counts as income, even though it's not technically "earned income" like you would expect on a W-2.

So I'll pick some random numbers an try to explain it. Lets say to lease the 330 I have right now would cost joe blow $600 a month. My deal at work might cost me 400 a month with a 200 allowance. So basically they take 600 a month from my check and then give me 200 back. Its so they can count every car we take towards sales but they give us a break on the price.

It sounds strange I know but they've been doing it for years, so I'm sure its legit. They literally cover everything related to the car minus fuel. I don't pay taxes or carry insurance on it and all maintenance and/or repairs are included. Its basically a rental in a nutshell....

What is unsafe on the third gen? And the Celebrity looks great.

The rear axle is mostly held in my the torque arm. And there's no salvagable piece of exhaust on it, so a bunch of fumes come into the car.

Now I just occasionally take it down the road and back. Then do donuts in the backyard before I park it again.

I have a rusty '92 Camaro that WAS my daily driver including the winter. But my wife won't let me drive it anymore because it's "unsafe".

So now I'm back to driving my Celebrity in the warmer months (and a square in the winter).

That Celebrity looks sweet. I still see a good handful of A Bodies, but the Celebrity is very seldom one of them. I also like the Camaro. I’m not one to ever praise a third gen, but that one looks great.

I know people get tired of hearing about and seeing my Caprice, but since you’re new here, I’m gonna cut you a break.

It’s a great car, tough as nails. It often needs a little something done, like I had to put a new MC a couple weeks ago, but even then it’s not phased. I can’t complain. It’s got ice cold A/C, tunes, and cruise control, which is all I need.

The Celebrity was the first out of production, followed closely by the 6000. The Century and Ciera carried on through '96 so they are still more common.
