    Drive by cable vs, DBW (drive by wire - electronic), I think... What's more desirable in the LQ4s, the 1999-2000 w/CI heads, or the 2001-2007 w/aluminum heads?

    1985 GMC Compressor Wiring

    Those two wires (12v, Grd) energizes the coil activating the magnet that engages the clutch on the compressor. Easy peasy.

    A quart of MMO in the gas tank will make the exhaust smell nice and sweet.

    CFSJ mentioned the "factory peelers" in his post probably referring to the paint/primer compatibility problem GM experienced in the 80's. I had an '89 S-10 Blazer that the paint was peeling off of and in 1993 I was sent to the local Pontiac dealership to be repainted for free. The shop foreman...

    Make sure the condensor isn't obstructed with dirt, etc. and is able to flow fresh air across the fins.

    LED headlights

    I replaced the sealed beams in my '78 with round DOT LEDs I got from the 'bay'. I had to cut and peel back a part of the light buckets in order to fit the back of the led in. Otherwise, plug & play.

    Welcome to the site... What kind of upgrades are you thinking of? I can understand a few changes like what I did to my '78 to make it my own. I changed tires & wheels and a little bling under the hood.

    IH Cub Cadets are another one of my devotions. I've downsized to 2 now. A 149 and a 982 Super. I still regret ever selling my 147.
