    Using a throttle position sensor for the 4L80? Not sure how to put an electronic trans in these old dinosaurs.

    Thanks. It was tedious work. Opened up a beer, put some music on and took my time. I’m a cheap ass and refused to spend 60$ on a new one.

    Another tailgate band resto. Hopefully it holds up as I did a few things different. 1st, removed anodized coating using oven cleaner. 2nd, scuffed the center of band with gray ultra fine scotch brite. I went in one direction only. With the grain of the band. 3rd. Polished the outside edge...

    Ahhh that’s good to know. I’d be nervous clearing within the hour too. Appreciate it. I’ve read mixed reviews on 2k over 1k but looks like it is possible so I’ll give it a try

    Not sure what aftermarket tailgate you bought but this trim looks to be for a 73-80 tailgate. I’m not certain they’re interchangeable.
